Good night. Sleep tight.

Well, one of the milestones I was referring to in my catch-up post is Kingsley making the transition to a big boy bed. It's funny how some of these transitions take place. For instance, I stopped giving Charlie a bath in the kitchen sink around Christmas because our kitchen sink kept getting plugged and would back up when the disposal would be turned on. Enough of that, into the tub (with your big brother) you go.

In similar circumstances we said "Good Bye" to Kingsley's crib. I lowered the side rail to change his sheets one day, and it literally fell apart (just the side rail, but still). He had recently learned how to climb INTO his crib---never OUT (can you believe it? This boy, this monkey, never figured out how to climb out of his crib?). Either way, once a child finds out how to get in, or out, of their crib unassisted, the crib's days are numbered.

The transition is going OK. Let's just say that we (our whole family) liked Kingsley's crib. We, his parents, loved it---the confinement, the good sleeping, and the confinement. Kingsley seemed to love his crib too---the security, the trampoline-like qualities, not to mention, the security. He likes his new "crib"---he calls it a crib. He has new sheets (Lightning McQueen) and a new pillow (that he has no idea what to do with). He still wants his crib (the remaining intact part) to be pushed up against his bed at night (so we haven't been able to get rid of it yet). He has acquired a new night light and now takes a flash light to bed. He has also had a few night terrors since the big move. But, all in all, it has been a smooth transition.

The boys like jumping on the bed. We have quite a few bumped and bruised noggins in our household. However, the bumped and bruised noggins would happen with, or without, a new "big boy bed".

I will end this post with a quote from a favorite bedtime story: "Mama called the doctor, and the doctor said, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

Good night, sleep tight.

"Whew, now Mama can go to bed."

P.S. Thank you crib. We are forever indebted to you for your years of service. You will be missed---and already are. Thank you. Rest in peace.

The King has come a long way. From the swaddled swinger to the big boy bed. Who needs a pillow when you have the "guys" plus Nemo to rest your head on.

Ahh, what a big boy! Too funny that he wants his crib pushed up against his bed :) With Caylin I took off the side panels and put a regular bed rail on it. Caylin was a lot more comfortable in her toddler bed after that. :)

Your boys are so handsome!
