Happy 1st Birthday Charlie!

My baby turns ONE tomorrow! What a whirlwind year. Happy, Happy Birthday my sweet Charlie!

Thank you for being such a sweet, sweet soul. Thank you for smiling and laughing as much as you do. Thank you for learning how to use the sippy cup (last week!). Thank you for saying "Mama" for the first time two days ago. Thank you for trying to console your brother tonight (by trying to hug him). Thank you for being so patient with me, with your brother, with life. Thank you for your squeals of delight, your zest for life, your pats on my back, your laid-back style, your knowing eyes, your hugs, your clapping, your dancing....for being you. I adore you.

I worried about how I was going to love another child, another boy, the way I love and fell in love with my first. Such a silly worry. One's heart really does expand and swell to make room for each child. And how different and beautiful each child is. I love you Charlie. Thank you for being you. I am so happy to be your Mama. Happy Birthday my little Peanut, my Butterball!
